Manuel Chichorro got his product design degree in 2010. After working for a period as a freelancer in Lisbon , developing his own projects in parallel, he Joined the Lisbon based design duo Pedrita. This experience put Manuel in contact with several different areas of the design work, with Pedrita he collaborated in projects that ranged from exhibition design to product development , collaborations with Portuguese industries , and installations. Soon after leaving Pedrita Studio Manuel moved to Switzerland to work as a Junior designer in the toy company Active People. Here he learn to deal with the rhythm and dynamics of being an in-house designer. The day to day experience was again very intense and diverse, while working on new concepts and developing several projects that would get mass produced he was also dealing with production directly, allowing him to collaborate continually along the whole process of launching a product , from sketch to packed and ready to distribute. After more than two years of collaboration Manuel left Active People to enroll in the Product Design MA at Ecal in Switzerland with the goal of further developing his skills and defining his own work method, framing his interests and thinking process.
